Strong public attendance on Thursday, August 16 at the Highlands Council offices, 100 North Road, Chester NJ will strengthen our argument against this Proposal. You will also be able to make a verbal statement limited to three minutes during the public comment period.

There was a victory in Mount Olive on April 15th when the Town Council decided to back out of the application for a Highlands Redevelopment Area Designation after hearing the serious safety and quality of life concerns from over a dozen residents. This decision prevented the development of two warehouses proposed for two lots on Sandshore Road bordering two preserved farms.

But, it’s back! A resolution dated 12/19/23 which did not include Lot 5.01 has been dusted off and is now before the Highlands Council. Warehouses on two Sandshore Road lots will still be possible if this Redevelopment Designation is approved.

The Highlands Council is now accepting written public comments on the Proposed Highlands Redevelopment Area Designation until July 16, 2025. If you are concerned about threats to our safety, environment and quality of life that may occur if the proposal is approved, please prepare a statement.
